New Port Richey Film Festival Returns to Celebrate Local Talent and “Hollywood of the East” Heritage

Richey Suncoast Theatre is proud to announce the return of the New Port Richey Film Festival on Sunday, March 15th, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. This community event is free and open to the public, honoring the city’s early history as a burgeoning film hub once slated to become the “Hollywood of the East.”

The festival will showcase a diverse selection of short films created by local filmmakers in both Youth (17 & under) and Adult (18 ) categories. This afternoon of creativity on the big screen highlights emerging creators alongside experienced storytellers from across the community.

Call for Entries: Submit Your Film

The festival is currently seeking original short film submissions. Local creators are invited to share their stories for a chance to win cash prizes and tickets to the Sunscreen Film Festival in St. Petersburg (April 30 – May 3).

Submission Requirements:
Deadline: Sunday, March 1st
Length: Under 5 minutes
Format: Motion pictures only (no slideshows)
Rating: Must comply with MPAA “G” rating
Limit: One entry per person or group
