Arbor Day Celebration!

Keep Pasco Beautiful, in collaboration with the Florida Forest Service and the Urban & Community Forestry Grant, is hosting a Native Tree Giveaway to celebrate Florida Arbor Day on January 17.

The event features two locations and opportunities for the community to learn about tree care and pick up a free native tree. The UF/IFAS Extension Pasco County in Dade City will offer a free 30-minute tree planting seminar at 11 AM, followed by tree distribution until 1 PM. Later in the day, the City of New Port Richey will hold its Arbor Day Celebration at Frances Avenue Park, starting at 2 PM, with tree distribution from 3 to 5 PM.

To participate, individuals must preregister and can select from two tree options: Fringe Tree or Firebush. Trees are provided in three-gallon pots for easy transport, and knowledgeable experts will be on-site to answer questions and provide tips.

This initiative is a collaborative effort involving numerous partners, including Pasco County, Tampa Bay Water, the City of New Port Richey, New Port Richey FarmNet, Genesis School, Master Gardener Volunteers, UF/IFAS Cooperative Extension, and others. Together, these organizations aim to enhance the environment and promote sustainable practices across the region.
