Raising Cane and Moonshine Festival
Join the Raising Cane and Moonshine Festival, at the Pioneer Florida Museum, for a fun-filled day. Activities will include:
- Sugar Cane Syrup Making
- Southern Syrup-Makers tasting competition (guests may taste and vote)
- Great food, fundraising dinner: Pulled pork, yellow rice and black beans $12, also other food trucks and vendors.
- Speaker from US Sugar on Sugar Cane at 12:30 pm in the Mabel Jordan Barn (behind the yellow two- story house)
- Craft and other unique vendors
- Axe Throwing
- Live entertainment
- The Geared Up Band 10 am – 2 pm in the Gazebo
- Working Blacksmiths
- The Barking Dogs (old time music) near the Cane Mill
- Model trains running
- All museum buildings open, many with docents in time-period attire
- Craft demonstrators
- Moonshine stories
- Moonshine exhibit
- Moonshine samples
- Collecting American Flags that need to be retired
If you have any flags that need to be respectfully retired, please bring them to the Raising Cane and Moonshine Festival at the museum on Saturday, January 14, 2023, 10 am – 4 pm. The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will have a small table at the event to collect worn/torn flags to be respectfully retired in their ceremony. The DAR table will be next to the yellow two-story Overstreet House, near the church. The DAR will be doing a flag retirement ceremony on President’s Day, Monday February 20th.
