Things To Do

Family-Friendly

Take a fun-filled timeout from reality with a family vacation to remember on Florida’s Sports Coast. Here, you and your family will find endless ways to create lasting family memories. Test your limits on an aerial obstacle course, hike through pristine nature preserves, meet exotic animals and even take a snow hill in an innertube all along Florida’s Sports Coast.

For the Sports Lovers

Get your next family adventure started at the New Port Richey Recreation & Aquatic Center, a multi-purpose facility that offers a little bit of everything. Inside you’ll find two gymnasiums, an indoor playground, a dance studio and a game room. Outside you’ll discover basketball courts, tennis courts, a skate park and four refreshing pools, including a plunge pool with a 28-foot waterslide.

A grand slam in its own right, the state-of-the-art Sarah Vande Berg Tennis Center opened in 2020, and it’s still growing in size with added amenities to come. Besides its 11 tennis courts, the Center nets a good time with pickleball and padel (which is like an open-air racquetball court), plus beach volleyball and beach tennis.

It’s the perfect place to get your family’s fun off the ground.

Lace up the skates and tackle the ice rink with your family at AdventHealth Center Ice. The largest ice arena in the Southeastern United States, here you’ll find four full-sized rinks and one kid-sized rink. Skaters of all skills are welcome for public skating, and you can even take lessons to feel more comfortable on the ice.

Elevate your family adventure at TreeHoppers Aerial Adventure Park. Perfect for getting your family’s fun off the ground, you and your kids can navigate through eight different courses with more than 100 unique elements like cable walkways, wood obstacles and adrenaline-charged zip lines.

Pick up speed and air before coming down with a splash at Lift Adventure Park. Offering kayaking, a huge floating obstacle course and a public beach, the main attraction here is The Lift—the cable system that pulls thrill-seekers along the water as they try tricks and stunts on their wakeboards.

Fun for the Whole Family

Take a walk on the wild side with a family adventure at Giraffe Ranch. Take an intimate safari-style expedition led by experienced guides on safari tour vehicles where you can get up close and personal with giraffes and other exotic animals. Whether you’re taking a guided tour, camel expedition or Segway safari, Giraffe Ranch is an unbeatable destination for family fun.

Sample fruits right from the branch with a family trip to Starkey Blueberry Farms. Offering a fun, and often competitive, experience each spring, you can pick as many berries as you’d like for only five dollars per pound.

Relax with hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows around the campfire.

Here’s a story no one back home will believe: While you’re on Florida’s Sports Coast, take your family to Snowcat Ridge, the first outdoor snow park to open in the state. This one-of-a-kind 60-foot-tall and 400-foot-long snow tubing hill comes complete with a magic carpet lift, indoor snow dome and a picturesque alpine village where you can shop, dine and relax with hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows around the campfire.

For a relaxing—but still exciting—airborne adventure, lift your spirits on an Black Diamond Balloon hot air balloon ride. Float over Florida’s Sports Coast on an hour-long flight and see the beautiful towns, lakes and unique wetlands that make this place so famous. Perfect for a romantic rendezvous and complete with champagne when you land, or take a family and friend adventure party in the sky.

The perfect place to celebrate a birthday or just a fun-filled night out for the whole family, Main Event offers plenty of exciement. From bowling and billiards to more than 100 arcade games and a foggy, black-lit, multi-level laser tag arena, it’s always fun to get a bit competitive with your family here!

For the Nature Lovers

The nature along Florida’s Sports Coast is the area’s best feature, and we’ve made it a goal to preserve this natural beauty for all to enjoy.

At Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park, it’s easy to feel at peace in nature. Well-known for paddling, fishing, hiking, and birdwatching, this park is also home to natural salt springs that are more than 300 feet deep.

Located in Dade City, Withlacoochee River Park is home to multiple campgrounds—including an RV camping area—a lovely playground and a variety of multi-purpose trails. You and your family can enjoy hiking, biking and fishing along the Withlacoochee River.

We’ve made it a goal to preserve our natural beauty.

The beautiful James E. Grey Nature Preserve hugs the shores of the winding Pithlachascotee (aka Cotee) River and is home to 80 acres of swamps and wetlands. With a fantastic boardwalk and tons of nature trails to explore, this is a great destination to hike, bike or kayak and unwind.

The perfect place to enjoy the great outdoors, Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park is 8,000 acres of untouched land that’s perfect for hiking, biking and camping. The variety of multi-purpose trails, both paved and unpaved, provide numerous options to get in touch with nature.

Located off the coast and only accessible by boat, Anclote Key Preserve State Park is the ultimate place to play, relax and enjoy the perfect beach day. If you want to take a hike down the coastline, hunt for seashells on the beach and lounge under the clear Florida skies, there’s no better place.
